The larges difference is the dog knows one is a game, and the other is real. In that difference, one is varietal in terms of training different elements and activities and the other is less demanding. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong>How does that impact your training OR liabilities? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Liability wise, a <strong><em>personal protection dog<\/em><\/strong> could potentially set you up for a whole world of trouble, and reading your local legislation is imperative to understanding what could happen in the event your K9 Companions NEEDS to protect you. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For <strong><em>personal protection<\/em><\/strong>, the dog is prepared and educated how to interfere with and completely stop an assault. Home and property, general public, and rural settings all carry different liabilities and we can discuss this in detail, however, at the end of the day,  those liabilities are something you have to weigh. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For <strong><em>sport<\/em><\/strong>, the dog understands that there are certain rules, expectations, and requirements and understand also that generally, the game is just that- a game&#8230; that starts and stops, and that there are certain ques, settings, and markers that let the dog know it is time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sport GENERALLY also includes a lot more than just mouth work. It includes detailed requirements with item retrievals, nose work, control and release, and agility elements.
